Cook + Connect After-School Program

Our FREE after-school program, Cook+Connect, specially designed for 8th & 9th graders in the Bronx and Harlem, offers a unique blend of food education and family bonding. At the start of the school year, each participant receives a comprehensive kitchen starter kit. Every week, fresh, high-quality groceries are delivered to their doorstep. These ingredients become the foundation for our interactive online cooking sessions where students, under the guidance of professional chefs, learn to prepare delicious meals for their families. These sessions do more than teach cooking; they foster family connections and ease mealtime stress. The program extends beyond the kitchen with engaging field trips to local kitchens, markets, and community spaces, further strengthening community ties. The application period opens in September and the program runs through the duration of the school year. Interested in being notified when the applications open? Fill out this form to stay in touch!

SNACC’s
Parent
Programming

At SNACC, we offer comprehensive and engaging programs tailored for parents of students in our partner schools, designed to deepen family involvement in healthy eating and culinary education. Our initiative includes interactivel cooking workshops, where parents can engage in hands-on cooking experiences, learning to prepare nutritious meals for their families. Complementing these workshops are our educational grocery store tours, providing parents with essential skills for smart, budget-friendly shopping and meal planning. This dual approach not only empowers parents with practical culinary knowledge but also reinforces the importance of informed food choices. We invite schools to partner with us in bringing these valuable programs to their parent communities, fostering a culture of health and wellness that extends from our classrooms to homes.
